We all like to look at other people’s houses. Right? Today I am showing you a tour of my kitchen the way it really looks today. I only “staged” one photo. Everything else is the way it really looks on a daily basis. I don’t like a lot of things on the counter tops in our kitchen, and you will see that in the photos. Also, I have included links so you can read more about certain things.
Not much has changed in our kitchen recently other than I took out a lot of the red. I am happy to say I love this room as much as I did when we remodeled it.
I am still crazy about the rustic shelves we added a while back. It is fun to change them according to the seasons. I am in a white mode right now.
Lulubelle will always be in our kitchen. I bought her here. The rug is one of my favorite things. I love old rugs because they add such personality to a room.
Still love the gray peninsula. It provides tons of storage. The other side has cabinets with glass doors and wine storage. I forgot to take a photo of that area.
The bright light is coming from the French doors that go into our sunroom.
The tray has been updated since its Christmas look. That was one of my best purchases last year.
I painted the large one and bought the other two in Belgium on a biking trip.
This area gets a lot of action.
My mother gave me some new shiny copper mixing bowls. This spot has been featured in two print magazines and on several major magazines’ websites, like House Beautiful and Country Living. They liked that using a towel bar on the end of a cabinet was a good use of space.
I love a bench in place of chairs. It was a Craig’s List find that I transformed with Paris Grey chalk paint by Annie Sloan.
Jordan raved so much about her Amazon Echo that I asked for an Amazon Dot for Christmas. It hides nicely beside the DIY lamps. Having it is like having an assistant. Love it, but I wish she could dust and run the vacuum.
I am keeping the red pantry door that I painted. I love the pop of color.
Here’s a close look at one of the two lamps. I made them from water bottles I bought on ebay and then had custom shades made by a local lamp shop. The mirror was a find from the Restore.
I always try to have fresh flowers in the house along with some green plants. They just add life to a room.
This is the one staged shot. I wanted you to see my cute knife. It’s one of four colorful gingham knives. There are four different sizes in red, blue, yellow, and purple. They had great reviews, a good warranty, and were so reasonably priced. They’re available here. I thought you might like them.
Take care.
