Hello, everyone. We have a Christmas dining room to show you today. Mike and I have really enjoyed eating our dinner each evening with the tree lights glowing and with the fireplace working. I light some candles, put on some nice music, and we feel like adults. It was a gloomy day when I took these photos, but I think they turned out okay. I stick with traditional red and green, and use what I have. So, you have probably seen these decorations in another room in the past. But that’s okay. Enjoy the tour.
This is the view from the front door.
The Tree
This is our second year with this tree, and it is a perfect size. I am into plaid for Christmas, and the tree skirt is just a piece of plaid flannel wrapped around the stand. The only new ornament for this year is the shell on the bottom. I carried it on the 200 miles of my hike on the El Camino de Santiago. It’s there on the very bottom with the red cross on it.
The Table
T
The centerpiece is simple since I have to move it every night when we eat dinner.
This tea cup belonged to my grandmother who died before I was born. It is over 100 years old.
I bought the runner at Homegoods.
The Mantel
The mantel is simple with a garland, candles, and a nut cracker.
This winter scene is perfect for this time of year. It is pastels and was done by someone my husband knows.
Just two stockings hang on our fireplace, and that makes me sad. I miss the days when we had four.
All of our nut crackers came from my mother. I bought the garland at Hobby Lobby and love how realistic it looks.
The Shelves
I’m still a fan of our new shelves and cabinets.
The Cabinet
I enjoy having poinsettias in our house in December, but once January rolls around, I replace them.
More plaid here, too. I have it around the house right now.
I hope you enjoyed our Christmas dining room. We have really enjoyed this room, and the Christmas touches make it even better.
Take care.
