We signed up to get a box of organic veggies every week this summer from our local Community Supported Agriculture (CSA). The way it works is that we pay one lump sum of money at the beginning of the summer, and we get a weekly box full of produce until late October. Everything is fresh, organic, and beautiful. Sometimes the CSA website even has recipes for dishes that use the produce. Meanwhile, Mom loves going to her local farmers’ market. She hops on her townie bike and cycles to the market where she buys whatever is growing at the moment. We took a look at our recipe archives and found five recipes that are perfect to use with summer veggies and fruits. Since we have made each one of them, we stand by how delicious they are.
Both Mom and I love making our own pizza. We start from scratch with this dough recipe and now we both use this delicious pizza sauce. It is made from fresh tomatoes, and there’s just something extract yummy about using a sauce that doesn’t come out of a can. It is fairly simple to make. You can make enough to can it or freeze it.
Even though benedictine is an alcoholic beverage, it is also the name of a great dip made of cucumbers. As you know, cucumbers are at their peak right now, and so you should have plenty to make this fresh and delicious dip.
Zucchini is one of those veggies that produces so much so quickly that we have a hard time figuring out what to do with all of it. This zucchini recipe is delicious and a little bit unusual. Instead of making another loaf of zucchini bread (which we both love, by the way) or another zucchini casserole, wow your family with these fritters and their dipping sauce.

Peach Jam
If you love peaches the way we do, then you want to enjoy them in the winter, too. My mom made this peach jam and loves to eat it on her morning bagel. If you would rather have a fruit jam that isn’t peaches, this blackberry jam is a great plan B.

Bruschetta
We had to include another tomato recipe since we love them so much. Recently, we created a Greek crostini that makes the most of summer tomatoes, but this bruschetta is its Italian cousin.
All of these look so delicious but I think those zucchini fritters are first on my to make list!
Thanks Alicia. We love ’em!
