We love sharing books and ideas with you all because you are always so enthusiastic about our selections. When we were in India this past February, I saw a cooking show on the BBC channel in our hotel room called The Little Paris Kitchen. It was about a cute English girl living in Paris, and she was a trained chef. Her kitchen was about the size of a dog crate, yet she cooked impressive gourmet meals in it and served them to paying guests in her apartment restaurant. I don’t know if they have health departments that inspect restaurants in Paris or not. Anyway, her recipes looked delicious, and she also did unusual things to common (is there such a thing?) French foods. For instance, she made croque monsieur sandwiches (my all time fave) into muffins. And instead of making coq au vin in a pot, she made it on a skewer.
Her name is Rachel Khoo, and I googled her and found out she has a cookbook which I ordered as soon as I returned home. You can purchase it here. I have made several of the recipes and look forward to making a lot more this fall.
The photos are adorable, and there are definitely some of her teeny, tiny kitchen. Also, she has a really cute personality, a cute fashion sense, and doesn’t have a need to flaunt her cleavage. (That one is for you, Giada:).
