If you are a true Francophile, then you probably already know about the sweet life in Paris and also about a book titled The Sweet Life in Paris. Written by dessert expert David Levovitz, it is a delightful read.
David lived in San Francisco for twenty years and worked for/with Alice Waters at Chez Panisse, where he established himself as a dessert expert. He now lives and bakes in a tiny Paris apartment. His book gives a humorous account of the French and their way of life and thoughts on their way of life as seen through his expat eyes. Sprinkled through the pages are delicious recipes.
I have two copies of this book. One is an autographed copy that my friend Beth brought back to me from her most recent trip to the City of Lights. She waited in line to get his John Hancock for me after reading about his book store appearance before she left.
As of now, David has written five other highly acclaimed books (this book was published in 2009), and he also has an award-winning blog, www.davidlebovitz.com.
If you are hungry for a good and cute book about food, I highly recommend The Sweet Life in Paris. In fact, writing this post has made me want to read it again – for the third time.
Take care.

Me and my NBFF, David Lebowitz–he was Kentucky Proud that he could pronounce Louisville Properly. This is a wonderful guide book and one to go back to again and again. Thank you for introducing David’s writing to me

I love the new look and the skirt is perfect. I am thinking of adding one to our pedestal sink in the powder room for the same reason. Thanks for joining WUW.
