If you have been reading the blog for a while you will know about a vintage bar I purchased on Craigslist a couple of years ago. Through the years I have painted it and even changed the knobs twice. Well, I was ready to give it another update and new location in the house.
So, the last time you saw our little vintage bar, it was black and sitting in a corner of our dining room. One day while in the living room I thought, hmm ,the bar will fit perfectly in this one spot. I quickly scooted it to the living room but then decided it needed a new color. (It’s always something). I had some left over homemade chalk-like paint from the Ikea dresser hack, and I went to town on the bar.
The bar is right at home in the living room, and the color works great with the flower knobs I purchased last year. And just so you know, we don’t even use it as a bar since Yankee built one. It’s more of a storage cabinet for our excess glasses.
The fun part is always decorating the top. I can change it seasonally or whenever I am in the mood. (Good blogger) For now it is simple with some books that I grabbed off the shelves in our study. The little plant has been alive for a couple of years in our house, so I am a fan. The horse shoe is from our wedding, and the votive is a gift from my mom.
I am eventually going to cover the books with some cute wrapping paper but for now this works. I bought the hippo at Home Goods, and I am such a fan especially after going to Africa this spring and seeing all the animals in the wild. The hippos were HUGE.
