Yesterday I wrote about the mirror I redid so that it would work with the skirt I made for our powder room. Since I took photos of the skirt-making process, I thought it would be fun to share it with you.
I love the custom marble countertop and vessel sink but felt that it was a little top-heavy for the open bottom of the vanity. So, I decided to make a skirt for it if I could find the right fabric.
I fell in love with this paisley, and I knew it would be the WOW! factor in the room.
Thanks to all of my years of taking sewing in 4-H, I am really good at sewing straight lines. And making a skirt panel is nothing more than measuring, cutting, and sewing a bunch of straight lines.
One of my go-to tools when sewing is chalk. It really helps me mark my cutting lines because just like a carpenter, I measure twice and cut once. It is important to press every seam as you go. That gives a more polished look to the finished piece.
And just about an hour after I started, I had this great skirt.
I used a tension rod to hold it securely.
So, there you have it. If you have had any sewing basics, like Sewing 101, you can skirt any issue sink.
Take care.

Thank you for visiting my blog and for the comment!
In response yes I got my curtains from Country Curtains…the tree is GONE and I wish we could just paint that lamp. We live in military housing so we can’t paint any fixtures.
Thank you for the advice 🙂
