Y’all know I love our stoop. As far as stoops go, ours is a nice size. There’s a small brick wall in front of our townhouse, and it helps create a mini-courtyard with a small sitting area. The stoop gets freshened up each season, and this fall is no exception. I took a very simple approach this year, and even though it probably is not blog worthy, I thought you might like to see it.
There’s a simple formula for decorating entries to our homes – mums, pumpkins, pansies, a wreath, and dried corn stalks. I skipped the wreath because it wouldn’t be protected from the weather, and I don’t want to deal with getting the cornstalks from the store to my house. #callmelazy
This is definitely a case of less is more, with just two pumpkins, two mums, and a flat of pansies. It is just the perfect amount of items for the amount of space we have.
The pumpkins have been there since last week and have endured some high temperatures. I sure hope they can last through Thanksgiving.
The pansies will eventually fill the space and provide lots of great color. Pansies are my favorite flowers, and I used this method to keep the pesky squirrels out.
A throw and some fall pillows complete the look. See how I made the plaid pillow out of a man’s shirt here.
From near and far, the space looks simple, fresh, and ready for fall. Have you decorated your entryway yet?
Take care.

Your stoop looks very “fallish,” and yes, a lot of times, less is more! Pansies are my favorite flowers, too! Have a great day! xoxo
