Every time Jordan gets the chance to visit us here in Lexington, she and I make it a point to go to our favorite place for tea, The Greentree Tea Room.
Located in what was once a home in the historic downtown, the Greentree has become our go-to place for small family/friend celebrations. In fact, one year my New Year’s resolution was to visit it at least once a month that year, and I did! It was an easy resolution to keep because they change their set menu every month, so, it is always new. We even had Jordan’s bridal luncheon there last year.
Each monthly menu includes a soup (hot and creamy in the fall and winter, and cool and fruity in the spring and summer), a scone, an entree, tea sandwiches, and sweets. Yes, it is a lot of food, and we always leave there stuffed. We try to either skip dinner or eat a light dinner after having tea at the Greentree.
There are several small rooms so that the atmosphere is very intimate.
The menu is always displayed on the table, which is covered in a crisp white table cloth with crisply ironed napkins, white basket weave china, and centered with white roses and greenery.
This month’s menu was…….
Chilled fruit soup……..
Cream scone with Fayette cream and lemon curd…..
Along with an asparagus crepe with mornay sauce.
Assorted finger sandwiches……
Were served from here.
You can see our little strawberry cake and French wafers……
and the chocolates pots de creme. Yummmmm……
Since the Greentree is also an antique shop, we looked at some of the china and enjoyed their interesting transom window.
Here is my lovely daughter and blog partner enjoying a cup of darjeeling.
Take care.

There is nothing like Afternoon Tea — and that one looked wonderful!!! There is something elegant about sitting and sipping tea and eating great food. I enjoy visiting tea rooms no matter where I am and that tea room looks like a wonderful place.
