I am a fan of martinis. I like the regular martinis, just like Don Draper. In case you aren’t up on your pop culture, he is the main character in the “Mad Men” television series. (Thank goodness it is returning Sunday)!
However, I decided to change it up the other day when some friends came over. We were celebrating a belated birthday, and I made birthday martinis, thanks to Pinterest. They were so cute and festive that we wanted to just stare at them rather than actually drink them.
First, I started with some fun martini glasses and put a little bit of frosting around the rim. Then I dipped each glass in a bowl of sprinkles. They were ready to party!!! But don’t worry. You can have these little gems in your own home because I’m sharing the recipe.
BIRTHDAY MARTINI
1.5 ounces vanilla vodka
1.5 ounces cranberry juice
1/2 ounce champagne
Mix ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake. Drop a cherry in the bottom the glass and pour the mixture into a glass.
Cheers!
