I was looking around our kitchen the other day and realized there are touches of red here and there and everywhere. I took some photos to share with you.
My husband bought the vintage bubble gum machine, and we use it all the time. Yep, I love sugar-packed bubble gum. ( I wrote about the passport tray here).
I love to display my cooking utensils in a crock or bright red bucket, like this one.
This is a flea market purchase that I just thought was cute.
I’ve written about these cool cannisters before here. We bought them when we were on our first bicycling trip in the Netherlands. Since then, we have ridden there on nine different trips. It’s my favorite country, and I love everything about it.
I love the French country feel this gingham lampshade gives to my silver teapot lamp.
This rug is under our kitchen table and came from Pottery Barn a few years back.
I made both of these pillows for a pine bench that sits beside the table.
These gingham chair cushions are from Ballard Designs. They are very comfy and are washable.
Even the cookbook shelf has some red in it.
I love our little Dualit toaster. It’s a happy thing to see and use in the early morning.
If I want to make more than one cup of tea at a time, I pull out the vintage thermos.
Even the insides of our cabinets have red. Like I said, there’s red all about the kitchen.
Take care.

OH-oh…I used to have a silver teapot lamp that got to feeling dated, then I see yours and…it’s darling with the plaid shade. Maybe I’ll see it at Goodwill and buy it back! LOL! Funny how the color(s) we’re drawn to keep re-appearing in our lives. Following the rules of posting, I’m visiting your post at Stroll Thru Life right after mine, and glad I did! ~Zuni

I love pops of red in the kitchen, but I can’t decide what I like most. The rolling pin with red handles is just adorable. And the canisters from the Netherlands are really appealing, too. How wonderful that you’ve taken 9 cycling trips there. That sounds like so much fun and something I’d love to do. And that toaster! Oh my … you’re so lucky to have that. Thanks for sharing all your treasures, and thanks for stopping by my blog.

It’s said that every room needs one black item – well, I believe that every room needs a jolt of red. Last year I finally let go of my red kitchen walls and painted it a buttery yellow. I missed the red though, and had to paint the Welsh cupboard red to compensate.
I love the teapot lamp!
