When I wrote this post last week, I mentioned that we had purchased a new rug for our sunroom. The old one was a victim of the direct afternoon sun that this room gets.
Since our sunroom has mostly all furniture that is vintage or just plain old, I like to add pops of new and trendy here and there so that it doesn’t look too much like a grandmother’s sunroom. When I saw this rug online, I knew it would do the job. It’s an indoor/outdoor rug that is comfortable to the bare feet yet will stand up to the sun.
Just to refresh your memory, here’s the old rug, which I loved, by the way.
This rug gives just the right amount of young and trendy.
Prints with splashy leaves are very “in” right now, and they add another level of comfort to the sunroom. We love the results that this rug delivers! And by the way, I found that bright yellow pillow in the children’s section at HomeGoods. Even though it’s made for a child, it’s perfect for this bright and sunny spot. And to top it off, it is made of indoor/outdoor fabric. #winning
I have no idea how old this vintage step ladder is that I use to set drinks and things. Whatever its age, it is wearing the original paint, and it matches the new rug perfectly.
Also, there are enough other greens in the room that make the rug fit right in.
Even the birds in this pillow fabric have the same green in them. I am not even sure if red is “in” right now, but I like the way these red pillows, that I made using Brunschwig and Fils fabric, brighten the space.
I really think this leaf design is almost a neutral sort of like leopard is a neutral. I am really happy with every single thing about it.
Take care.

I laughed when you asked if red was in. Does it really matter? If you like it and it works, then I say use It! The rug is perfect…and so is your sun room! 😉
Love it.
BTW, we are following your example of the stove hood. We will be “enclosing” ours in like you did!
Sande,
You will love the enclosed hood!
Hope you spend lots of time in that pretty room!
What did you do with the old rug? It’s really cute.
Debi, that rug is faded too much for me to use anymore so it is going to Goodwill.
