Based on the blogs I have been reading, it seems as if many people are easing into their fall decorations. So, I decided to ease into our decorations, too when I put together a simple fall centerpiece for the table in our great room dining table.
First of all, I went with faux as in a white pumpkin, gourds, and fall leaves. Clearly, if I were using the real thing this early in the fall season (when it’s still 90 degrees outside,) this centerpiece wouldn’t last very long.
I grounded it all with a cotton square that I bought while on a trip to Greece. The colors and design fit right in with the navy sprinkled around the room and the other fall colors.
I pulled out a tabletop greenhouse that I bought a while back, added a mint julep cup, an ironstone pitcher, magnifying glasses, a strand of pearls and the pumpkin and gourds.
These shots give you a good look at how everything is just layered into the base.
I thought the pearls would be a nice “something unexpected.”
Then I put the top over it, replaced my leopard candles with some brown ones that seemed more fall and called it a day.
I look at the beautiful photos of centerpieces on blogs and Pinterest and know I can never live up to most of those creations. So, I am doing my thing the way I know it and embracing my favorite season.
Just perfect!
I love the pearls. They add just the perfect touch of elegance. Mind if I borrow your idea?
Debbie, go for it. After all, don’t pearls looks like little white pumpkins???
Love the way that scarf mirrors the colors in your bench. What a nice way to usher in the season.
Such a beautiful and creative Fall centerpiece!…Love the pearls…they go with everything!!!
