Hummus is such a trendy food right now. It doesn’t hurt that it tastes great, and it is nutritious. That’s a win-win for all of us. For the July 4th weekend, I decided to try something new and came up with a black bean hummus recipe. It still has the great taste and is a perfect dip to serve with veggies or crackers. The only difference is that it is made using black beans rather than chick peas. If you haven’t tasted black been hummus before, do yourselves a favor and make some right away.

Enjoy this great recipe as an appetizer this week-end. It is also delicious as the base for a veggie sandwich.
