When Mom and I get together, we often like to try out a new cocktail. We both love margaritas and wanted a variation of that traditional recipe. We put our heads together and decided that a refreshing pink lemonade margarita is just right for this wonderful summer heat. We decided that pink lemonade combined with tequila, triple sec, and lime would be a cocktail loaded with flavor. After trying a few combinations, we came up with the perfect recipe and hope you enjoy it as much as we did. One tip that we think is important for you to know is that using fresh lime juice tastes much better than the bottled kind. To make it easier to squeeze the limes, we use one of these. It is so worth it.
PINK LEMONADE MARGARITA
Makes 4
2 cups pink lemonade
1/2 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
1 cup triple sec
1 cup silver tequila
Lime wedges for garnish (optional)
Salt for the rims (optional)
Combine the first four ingredients in a pitcher and stir. When ready to serve, put the mix and ice in a shaker and shake for 30 seconds. Do this for each individual drink. Serve over ice in a glass that has been dipped in salt. Garnish with a wedge of lime.
You might also enjoy this cocktail, this one or this one that we shared a while back.
Cheers!

Did you use frozen pink lemonade or Countrytime pink lemonade?
Jordan says
KH, we used premixed pink lemonade that was in a bottle in the dairy department.

Is the two cups of pink lemonade concentrated or made according to directions on can?
Jordan says
Susan, follow the directions on the can and then add it to the recipe.
