A few weeks ago when I visited my parents, my mother gave me a Chinese garden seat that she had on her screened-in back porch. I have been thinking about getting one all summer, but she took care of it. At first, I thought I would keep it in our courtyard, but I put it in our mudroom instead.
I wasn’t satisfied with the way it looked in the mudroom, so I moved it and my orange shoes (wink, wink!!!) to the great room.
Since every room in our house is decorated in the same color scheme including a lot of blue, the color and design fit right in.
Sitting beside the great room fireplace is a chair that was custom-made for my very tall husband many years ago. It has been reupholstered several times. The little seat looks great sitting right beside it.
I added a few pieces of old silver and a little vase of garden flowers to add some interest to the top. They leave plenty of room for a guest (or us) to put a beverage.
When fall shows up, the garden seat might be too summery for the autumn decor. If that’s the case, I’ll just store it away in my staging area till next spring.
Looks amazing in there!
Love it next to that wonderful chair and love the orange shoes.
Thank you, Kim!
