Hey, everyone. Happy Tuesday. We mentioned here before that our husbands have been giving us both a day at the spa for our birthday gifts. When I visited Jordan recently, we cashed in on our gift.
The spa is located in Skaneateles, a town about 25 miles from Syracuse. I should have said it is a storybook town with one of the best main streets I have ever seen, and believe me, I saw a bunch when I bicycled across the USA. It is just oozing in charm and quaintness and it is right on the one of the cleanest lakes in the country.
We entered through a cute little hobbit door that looks centuries old but is really just a reproduction.
The spa is located in a hotel, and it has several lush lounging areas.
We headed straight to the dressing room to change into our robes so we would have some time to sit by a heated foot pool before we headed to lunch. One of the perks is to eat in our robes.
Jordan had just spent a tough 36 hours being kicked in the gut by what we think was a flu bug. She welcomed having a chance to enjoy the spa but was still pretty weak and didn’t have an appetite. That didn’t stop us, though, from taking advantage of the lunch that was included in our package.
The selections were really healthy, and she ate what she could. I managed to wolf down every morsel. We both took our desserts (cheesecake) home for later, though.
The whole place was very French in its design and decor.
This was the view out of the dining room window.
After lunch we headed back to the pool and hot tub area before we both had our treatments. I had a deep-tissue massage, and Jordan had a facial. Her skin looked like a baby’s bottom when it was over. Great results!!
In the late afternoon, it was time to face the world and bid farewell to our day of luxury for another year. We both have our fingers crossed that this will be our gifts again next year.
My sister-in-law treated me to a day spa as a retirement gift. Our husbands went to the Dodger/Angels baseball game while she & I headed for the spa. I think we got the better deal – it was heaven. I’m with you, it is a luxury that needs to be repeated annually.
What a wonderful day you had in that gorgeous spa….I LOVE Skaneateles!…We stayed at that very large hotel across from the gorgeous lake…you are right, the main street is so beautiful and quaint…We were on a “Finger Lakes Trip”….and also visited Cooperstown which is also a gorgeous quaint town…
Shirley,
Glad you have been to Skaneateles I love living so close to the charming town. I hope you had a chance to visit the Finger Lakes wine country on your trip. I have yet to go to Cooperstown but Mr. Spring keeps saying we need to visit. Maybe once it warms up.
Cheers!
Oh my goodness this place looks amazing and the food looks so delicious! I can see why you want this to be an annual gift! Jordan I sure hope that you are feeling better now.
Alicia,
The place is amazing. Yes I am feeling 100% healthy now, thank goodness.
Cheers!
Don’t you just LOVE eating a fancy lunch in your robe?? Your photos look exactly like the ones I take when my mom and I visit a nearby spa!
Julie,
It is so fun to each lunch in a lush robe. I am sure you have a blast when you do the spa with your mom!
Cheers!
Such sweet husbands! Glad you enjoyed your spa day. I think I need to read this post aloud to my husband. Hope he gets the hint!
