It has been a couple of months since we went to Burma. Mr. Spring and I like to travel light which means we each use a backpack we can carry on. I have dealt with losing luggage overseas, and it is such a pain. So, I have learned to pack like a pro. With this packing strategy, we end up not buying that many souvenirs. We do usually buy an ornament for our Christmas tree which we did in both Burma and Thailand this year. However, we also bought some art in the form of hand-painted note cards.
Here you can read all about my mom’s art purchase and how she made cute envelopes to go with this postcard size art. We decided to take a different route.
For winter, I had printed and framed some faux vintage winter posters for our tiny half bath. While very appropriate for us in the winter, it was time to change it up.
We bought two packs of these hand painted cards – one pack was black and white and one packet was colorful. Mr. Spring framed a couple of the note cards and took them to his office at work. I loved all of the colors and thought they would look good framed and put in the bath.
The green in the cards actually works great in the bathroom. Plus it is fun to see them and remember the amazing people and children we met. We really enjoyed our time in the country and we plan to go back in the future.
This was my favorite painting and we bought one of the packs just for this card. I love the vibrant colors and just something about the monks is peaceful. They are a common sight in Burma.
Hope you enjoyed our travel art.
