Happy Monday!!! We had a great week-end despite getting caught in a downpour on our Sunday bicycle ride. We were still eight miles from home when the thunder and lightening started. I find that I can always pedal faster when under stress.
I took some time this week-end to makes some much-needed tweaks in the sunroom.
I wrote last year about the glass ceiling (here) we have in the sunroom. Well, although I love it, the art we hang in there takes a beating. I use the word art loosely, because we really don’t put a lot of effort into it.
The Cycles Gladiator poster that I hung last year had almost faded into oblivion.
Ditto for this sweet little magazine cover from the 1920’s that I bought at Scott’s in Atlanta a few years ago. No worries, though.
Jordan’s friend Amanda (you loved her kitchen here and her dining room here) gave Jordan a book of botanicals after she (Amanda) had selected some to use in her foyer. Jordan then used some in her dining room, and then she passed it on to me. Are you still with me????
This is the first one I picked. Even though it looks orangish, the flower is red. And even though it looks navy, the mat is black. And even though it looks like a horrible photo, I’m going to blame it on the glare.
This is the second one I framed. They are a good pair. And by the way, the mat was thicker at the bottom than at the top. That’s probably why it was in the discount bin at Michael’s. So, I just grabbed a piece of ribbon from my stash and attached it to the bottom. (I’m noticing now that the ribbon is slightly uneven. Darn.)
This little lady is sitting in the corner of the sunroom, and the ribbon on the new art matches the bow she has been wearing. Tres chic!!!
This is how they look together. Oh, and by the way, the title of the botanical book, in case you are interested, is Botanicals, Butterflies and Insects by Assouline. It’s available here.
Looks so pretty!!
i love the art and the sunroom would be my dream….but WHERE IS THAT CUTE RUG YOU HAD IN THERE…..I LOVED THAT RUG
I am giving the other rug a rest for a while. It is in my storage area, freshly cleaned and ready to pull out at any time.
your room and house are so so pretty..but i do die every time i see those rugs 🙂
Love the new prints for the sunroom, they look fabulous and I totally adore you swan. I would love for you to link this up to my Inspire Me party this evening. Hugs, Marty
Those prints really perked up that wall. By the way, did the sun fade the matting as well? The contrast with the prints is stunning – the botanicals are perfect for a sunroom.
Yes, Cyndi, the mats were faded. I just spray painted the old one, and the other one is new.
This really is a lovely room. Thanks so much for joining Inspire Me. Hugs, Marty
I love the prints, they are full of such vibrant color and are the perfect addition to a sun porch. Very pretty!
I’m so glad the botanical book is going to good use! Looks great!!
