Last spring I had the opportunity to spend eight days on a solo trip to Paris, and it was glorious. Each day I set my itinerary, and rain or shine, I set out on foot to see some beautiful sights. I have been to Paris many times. In fact, my husband and I spent our first New Year as newlyweds in the City of Lights while we were living in Switzerland. However, this was the first time I was there alone to do whatever my little heart desired.
I stayed in the Marais area, and a special antique sale took place during my visit. One vendor’s display that really piqued my curiosity was a selection of seltzer bottles. There were hundreds of them in many colors, but mostly a beautiful blue. I wanted to buy one or a hundred, but I was going to join my husband and cycle to Brugges, Belgium which meant there would be no room for a seltzer bottle.
The different shades of blue were really pretty. I don’t know what the labels on the bottles were for.
Some of the seltzer bottles were lime green and even orange.
So, I was thrilled when my latest ebay purchase arrived this week with my very first seltzer bottle. Our new place has a wonderful wet bar with shelves. I plan to place some of my framed black and white Paris photos, that I wrote about here, on the shelves along with this seltzer bottle.
Honestly, I don’t know if the blue plastic netting is supposed to be there or if the seller used it to protect the bottle during shipment.
This bottle was used by Boulevard Beverages in the Bronx, NY, but it was made in Czechoslovakia.
The spout says Wasserman.
I plan to research Boulevard Beverages and Wasserman to see if I can learn anything about them. Meanwhile, I have a few purchases to make if I want to catch up to the vendor in Paris.

Oh, it is wonderful! Love the color, and I love the old label. I think I would have been overwhelmed by the selection at the Paris vendor’s booth! They do look pretty all lined up though. Thank you for linking to Favorite Things. laurie

Laurie,
Did you find this bottle in Paris?
Boulevard Beverages was owned by my husbands father. The bottles were filled at a source in the Bronx and sometimes the tops would become mixed with another distributer.
This one looks to be in very good condition. It is rare that the original label is still in tact.

No, I found it on ebay from a random seller. We are excited to display the bottle on our new wet bar in our new place. We’ll be moving in three weeks. How did you find us?
