It is finally feeling like fall around here, and that brings to mind that it’s also time for comfort food. If you want to enjoy the season with a nod to the Germans, then here you go. You have come to the right place. We have the perfect Oktoberfest meal for you. We looked through our archives and found three delicious recipes that will work just fine. All you need to do is add the steins of beer or ginger ale. We have a slow cooker main course recipe, a recipe for some delicious soft pretzels, and an upside down Black Forest cake for you. Just go to the links under each photo for the recipes. Enjoy!
Slow Cooker German-Style Bratwurst
I can guarantee that these three recipes are delicious., but the nice thing is that you can have a simplified version of this meal after a busy day. First, put your brats and kraut in the slow cooker before leaving the house in the morning. Rather than making pretzels from scratch, just buy frozen soft pretzels at the grocery, and follow the package directions to fix them. (They usually heat in about a minute in the microwave.) You can simplify the cake recipe by using a chocolate cake mix rather than making it from scratch. Then just spread a can of cherry pie filling on the top.
So, there you go. Have an Oktoberfest in your own home, and have a great time!
Take care.
