I love the posts that fill me in on what people are buying on Amazon. I have a huge Amazon shopping list right now to get ready for Google. (There’s an adoption update coming next week with very good news in it.) I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite purchases on Amazon. Do you have something you bought on Amazon and love? Tell us! I love hearing what others buy.
Egg Cooker
My mom just rolls her eyes when I talk about my egg cooker. But this thing is amazing. Every Monday morning I put in some eggs and minutes later I have hard boiled eggs that are EASY to peel. My mom says just boil them, and put them in ice water. This, to me, is easier, and I can’t mess up. It really sold me with the easy peeling. And by the way, my mom feels the same way about my rice cooker.
Silk Pillowcase
I have always heard sleeping on a silk pillowcase is wonderful for your skin. I have also learned it is wonderful for your hair. I love this silk pillowcase and even travel with it. It really cuts down on my frizz, and I am a fan. (To read about my curly hair adventure, go here.) Plus, it comes in tons of colors. I have it in the pink, and Mom has it in tan.
Ok to Wake clock
Before we even had kids, our friends who did told us about this clock. It is a clock that lights up when it is okay for your child to get up. You can also schedule naps. It has a timer that you set, and the light will go off when nap time is over. We LOVE this clock, and while we won’t be able to use it for Google till he is a little older, it is amazing for Little Miss. For nap or quiet time she has some time to play or sleep in her room quietly, and then she comes out when the light comes on. Same for the mornings. She knows it is okay to get up when the light comes on. If she needs to go to the restroom, she can get up and go. But she knows it is time to wake up when the light is on. It is not as harsh as an alarm clock, and she loves to tell us her light came on.
Berenstain Bear Books
I remember these as a child and loved them. I think my parents liked the message because we had the one about fighting with your sibling and about cleaning your room. HaHa!! . Before we moved to Lexington, we had one about moving day. I ordered a few, and Little Miss is really enjoying them. They have great messages, and they are a huge hit right now. Plus, isn’t a book about the Golden Rule a good lesson we should all remember? I have some more in my cart to order.
NY Times Crossword Puzzle Book
I am not the biggest fan of crossword puzzles, but people in my family enjoy them. These crossword puzzle books have been good gifts, and if you like crossword puzzles, they have lots. You can select which day of the week you want since the puzzles get harder as the week goes on. I know Charles likes to rip out some pages and take them with him when he travels. My mom also does the same thing.
Visual Timer
As adults, we know how to tell time. We know what five minutes mean. Little ones – not so much. Having a schedule and knowing what is going to happen next is huge with adopted children. They had a time in their lives when a big surprise was a traumatic event, so surprises are not always a good thing. We learned about this clock from reading lots of adoption books, and we now have many non adoptive friends using them for their children. One of my friends even got one for her classroom for her students to see how much time they had left to do something. We always discuss the events of the day with Little Miss to take away the surprise factor. We use this timer in the play room so Little Miss knows how long she has when she is playing, eating, etc. Do we have time to do a puzzle before bath? Or we can say it is time to pick up your toys in 10 minutes. Or we will leave for school in seven minutes, and she can see it. This is a great visualizer and has been a life saver. So, if you have little ones I highly recommend.
Ghost Chair
I bought a ghost chair a few years ago for my office, and I still use it daily. I enjoy the look and quality of this ghost chair, and it has held up well. You can find some great home finds on Amazon like this chair.
Icing Bags
If you do any cookie decorating, these bags are awesome. I really enjoy decorating cookies with Little Miss, and these bags are so much easier than the reusable ones, and the clean up is a lot easier. These 200 will last you a long time.
Leggings
My mom and I both rave about these leggings. I have ordered a few items of clothes on Amazon and have returned more things than I have kept. However, I keep these leggings and keep ordering more. The price and the comfort can’t be beat. I have some other leggings from Nordstrom and these are so much better and are a fraction of the price.
Well, there you go – a totally random list of some of my favorite Amazon buys. Now, we can’t wait to hear your favorite purchases.
Cheers!

We have loved our OK to Wake clock for both of our girls—it’s such a lifesaver as soon as they transition to the big kid bed! And I’m a huge fan of my silk pillowcase and also silk eye mask that I sleep in at night. It’s not a recent Amazon purchase, but one that I’ve resurrected and have been enjoying lately: Frownies! I’m sleeping with one in between my eyebrows at night and find it’s really helping train me to not furrow my brow and making my forehead is looking smoother.

Oh I am glad to hear you loved the Ok to wake as much as we do. Yes to a silk eye mask. Ok now I am off to check out Frownies this is something I have not heard of before! Thanks for sharing.

We are downsizing, and I have a ghost chair on my list for my office chair. I’m thinking of getting one with rolling legs. Also, our new condo has an infrared sauna built in, so I am very curious of your experience with yours. I know you said you enjoy it for nearly 40 min daily, but any further info you’d like to share would be appreciated! I’ve never experienced a sauna, and wasn’t sure if we’d even use it.

Rita,
I will put together a post about the sauna. I have also gotten a lot of emails asking questions. I will say I love it so much.

Oh my, your mom has no idea how much she is missing out by not owning an electric egg cooker. In addition to boiled eggs, they make the perfect poached eggs. Have two and one is 20 + years old. Tell your mom you young ladies aren’t the only ones that love the egg cookers, we much older ladies then her, won’t ever boil an egg and throw in ice water again. Think I must try a silk pillow cover to see if it performs better than my polyester cover, which is certainly better than cotton. I do enjoy your posts.

I love hearing that y’all love your egg cookers! Maybe this will get my mom on board. I will need to try the poached egg.

I absolutely love my egg cooker!
