We are going to start off this year with a round-up of some of our posts from 2018. We have put them into categories, and first up is our favorite tips. Now, between you and me, I love a good tips post. They are my favorite posts to write and to read. Enjoy our favorite tips post from 2018.
Read This Before You Downsize
As many of you know, we moved to a new to us home last year that was move-in ready after we did a total nine month remodel of the entire place. We actually upsized after downsizing eight years ago. Why did we upsize? Because our kids got married and started growing their families which made our old place too small. If you are considering downsizing, be sure to think it through. Here are some questions to ask yourselves first. Just click on the link below the photo.
Factors to Consider When Downsizing
Cleaning a Seagrass Rug Border
Many of us own seagrass rugs with a cotton border around them. Well, those borders get dirty, but I came up with the perfect way to clean them to look like new again.
How to Clean a Seagrass Rug Border
I love a sewing project as long as it involves sewing straight lines. I can make pillow shams, shower curtains like in this post, covers for decorative pillows like these, duvet covers, and bed skirts. I showed you a great tip for a bed skirt using dental floss, and it is no fail.

You know that we do a lot of traveling, and I like to carry my luggage onto the plane with me. I went against that rule when we went on a cruise in December because my hand was in a cast. Consequently, our luggage did not arrive on the ship till Wednesday, which was four days after the cruise started!!! So, I vowed that from now till eternity, I will not check my luggage. Sometimes we are gone for three weeks, which means I have to wash clothes during the trip. Since I wear things that I don’t want thrown into a hot laundromat dryer, I do a lot of laundry in the hotel sink. Making and taking detergent sheets helps me conveniently have detergent on hand.

Updating Furniture with Paint
Probably all of you have painted at least one piece of furniture during your lives, but the truth is…..painting furniture is a great tip. And you still love reading posts about it. Jordan really livened up a dated desk from her childhood bedroom with a bright coat of hot pink paint. She thought outside of the box, and it makes quite a statement in her home office.
We hope you have enjoy this walk down memory lane. Be sure to stop back tomorrow for another round-up of our most read posts.
Take care.

Happy New Year ladies!….we sold our home and building a new one (downsizing) … or should I say “right-sizing” We pretty much are downsizing about 1,000 square feet…from 4500 to 3600. We still need room for guests and an office and an exercise room for my hubby…so our goal was to build and to use every room (with exception of guest rooms) every day….
Happy New Year ladies!!!
