He is at it again. Mr. Right leaves today for a six-week adventure. We told you about the big trip he took last year, and we thought you might want to know about this one.
We have planned for years to do this trip together, but to tell you the truth, I chickened out. He will ride his bicycle from Tallinn, Estonia to Sophia, Bulgaria. Originally the trip was to end in Istanbul, but since Turkey is so unsettled right now, the group leaders decided to change the route.
(I think it’s time to take a new photo of Mr. Right with his bicycle.)
He will ride through Estonia, Latvia, Lithauania, Poland, Romania, and Bulgaria and will average around 65 miles a day. The scenery is supposed to be breath-taking, and the terrain will be mountainous in Romania. We have been to Estonia and Romania in the past, and I was looking forward to visiting the other countries, but I am a slow cyclist and am often at the back of the pack alone. I just felt too vulnerable putting myself in that situation.
With the recent death of his mother, Mr. Right needs this trip. He has been involved with business or family 24/7, and this will give hime a great chance to get some physical activity, relax, and clear his mind. He will arrive home in time to celebrate Little Miss’s second birthday, and we will all be so glad to see him.
I will not be sitting alone at home while he is gone. I have booked a trip to Palm Springs, CA. I love traveling alone, and it’s a city that I have wanted to visit. I am looking forward to the temperatures that are over 100 degrees right now. I also have some road trips planned, and one of them is to the Brimfield Antique show in Massachusetts.
If any of you have suggestions for me to do in Palm Springs, I would love to know about them.

Good luck to your hubby on a most successful trip!…Sounds very adventurous, but then again, he is!
Have fun on your trips too!

Would you have any recommendations for bicycles? We both have old, very inexpensive bikes and we are riding more and more. We feel overwhelmed when we look at touring bikes and they are so expensive! Is it necessary to spend a small fortune? Are there big, worth the money differences? Any advise you could provide, would be much appreciated.
Thank you, Deb

Deb, we both have custom-made titanium bicycles. However, before we had those, we both had Cannondales which we liked very much. Two other brand I would recommend are Specialized and Trek. In the bike world, you get what you pay for, and most entry-level bikes are around $1,000. You won’t regret spending that much once you see how much more comfortable they are. Hope this helps.

I pray that he stays safe (and well) on his trip and that you thoroughly enjoy yourself.
Take care.

So glad that you “chickened out”. Things certainly are unsettled in many of those areas and you are such a little bitty thing that you could fall prey to some bad people. Hope you have safe travels in the US and that you enjoy these destinations! I have been to Palm Springs and the shopping is top notch. It’s a beautiful area and I know you will find many things to enjoy there.
Love,
