Quiddler

Have you all heard of a game called Quiddler?  I know……it sounds like something from Harry Potter.  Thanks to Grandma H. our family now knows about this game, and we love it.  It’s a card game that involves words and numbers, and it’s for ages eight and up.  As many as eight people can play at once.  And by the way, this is not a sponsored post.  We just thought you might like to spend some of these cold winter nights playing this fun game with your families.  It will get you all away from the computer and television screens.

 

The whole game, which costs less than $11.00) consists of just two decks of cards, so, it’s easy to take with you if you are going on a trip or an outing.

 

 

The cards have numbers and letters on them.  The premise of the game is that each player is given cards.  When it’s your turn, you choose a card and discard a card.  When you can make words using all of the cards in your hand, then you go out.

 

 

Then you add up the numbers on the cards, and that’s your score for that round.  This gives young ones who are learning to add and subtract practice with their math, and they don’t even realize it.

 

 

Each game consists of eight rounds.  Each player gets three cards on the first round, and they get 10 cards in the last round.  The person who ends up with the highest score wins.

 

 

Mr. Right is not a lover of games, but this one is so fast moving that even he will play.  Quiddler (go here to buy it) is a mix between rummy and Scrabble, so if you like either of those games, then  you’ll like this one.  Have fun!
