Nothingness might not even be a word, and if it isn’t, I’m inventing it as one because today I am basking in it. Bathing in it. Celebrating it!!!
If you’ve been around here for a while, then you know my deeply felt wrath for our cable box ( I wrote about it here) that has been sitting in our great room since we moved in four years ago. In a cable box’s life, that’s four looooong years and even longer for the me that has been looking at it.
We have tried to come up with ways to hide or get rid of the box, but Time Warner was having nothing to do with that. I tried to hide it on a table, but we had to deal with those wires. Eventually, it ended up on the mantel with a big leafy plant trying to disguise its presence. But enough is enough. So, we decided to end our relationship with Time Warner as of today. Woohoo!!!
A few weeks ago when we were at our new neighbor’s townhouse for a get together, I noticed that there was no cable box sitting on his mantel even though his television was hanging above the fireplace. He said his tech guy took care of it. He gave me the name of said tech guy, and I set up a meeting. Let me just tell you this. He is as particular as I am, and we hit it off right away. He gave us three options that would work for us, and we chose to get a dish with the box hidden in our basement.
Craig (he’s our tech guy) and the Dish installers were here all afternoon, and they got the job done. I am in heaven. Stunned, actually. I don’t even know what to do with that mantel space now, so I’m just going to stare at it for a day or two and study mantel decorating on Pinterest. They should have 10 or 10,000 ideas for me. Just think what I can do with fall, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. So, if you need to find me, just come to the great room. I’ll be the one with the smile on my face enjoying the nothingness that is on the mantel.
Thanks for stopping in!
Take care.

Gotta love Time Warner….NOT. I curse them all the time but I don’t want a dish in my yard. So we are stuck with the black box…grrrrr

We have our bookcases that we can hide the cable box in…Have TW and wish we could have the Dish but where our house is situated, does not lend for good coverage….So happy that you will be able to decorate the mantel to your heart’s content!!!
