Orange Brownies Recipe

We can’t say enough about this delicious orange brownies recipe.  First of all, they are fancy and good enough to serve at a dinner party or simple enough to tuck into your child’s packed lunch.  There is plenty of sugar and butter to get your attention, and the glazed topping keeps them moist.  They also freeze well.  If you are looking for a special dessert, just make these and serve them with a scoop of ice cream on the side.  Then call us, and we will come right over.

Orange Brownies

1.5 cups of flour

2 cups of sugar

1 teaspoon of salt

1 cup of butter, softened

4 eggs

2 teaspoon orange extract

1 teaspoon grated orange zest

In a bowl, stir together the ingredients above and mix with a mixer till well blended.  Pour into a prepared 13 x 9 inch pan and bake in a 350 degree oven for 30 minutes.  Remove from oven and pierce top of entire cake with a fork.

Combine glaze ingredients (below),and pour over cake.  Cool and cut into squares

Glaze

1 cup confectioners’ sugar

2 tablespoons orange juice

1 teaspoon orange zest
