If you are lucky enough to have room to grown pumpkins, we have a great idea for you. We ran this post last fall, but it was actually too late for anyone to do the trick that we shared. Now is the perfect time to jump on this great hint. Let us know how they turn out.

We all love pumpkins, but imagine just how much more we would love them if they were engraved – as in by Mother Nature.
I saw some engraved pumpkins growing in the garden of a French chateau on my bicycling trip there last year and fell in love with them. Isn’t it cute!!! The steps to achieve this engraved look are simple.
1. Select a plain pumpkin while it is still growing in your garden.
2. Using the end of a knife, carve a message on it.
3. Let it continue to grow in the garden.
4. Meanwhile, it will form a crust making the words you engraved in it easily readable.
And when it is ready, it will look like this. To make it even more special, carve your message in French. Oh, la, la!!!!!
