Even though I might use a little faux greenery indoors when doing our Christmas decorations, I am all about using the live stuff outdoors. The folks where we get our Christmas tree were nice enough to let me load up my sports car’s little trunk with leftovers they had trimmed from other trees.
Since the courtyard is adjacent to our backwoods sunroom, and we see it every time we enter or leave the house through our mudroom, I wanted to add just a little touch of red plaid and greenery.
It serves as a reminder to the birds and squirrels that visit daily that Christmas is in the air.
I love wired ribbon because it helps the bows keep their shape.
Normally when I put flowers in these planters, the squirrels immediately pull them out in search of roots and bulbs.
For some reason they have kept their little paws out of the planters this time around.
This is so lovely. The bows are really pretty.
I was needing a good decorating idea for our deck and this is great. I think I have enough extra pine cones, ribbon and greenery to be able to make a nice center piece for our outdoor table. Thanks!
