I spend as much time as I can in our sunroom, which I call the solarium when I’m feelin’ “all it”. It’s a great place to get away from the air conditioning when the house is too cold for me but just perfect for Mr. Autumn. It’s also a great place for reading the paper and blogs, writing blogs, sipping some tea, or just hanging out.
The accessories in the sunroom are mostly leftovers from inside. Rarely do I buy anything special for it because the ceiling is glass, and everything gets very hot and/or faded.
That changed, though, when I bought a bunch of children’s books at the library’s used book sale. They’re for the grandkids I don’t have yet. (Where are they, anyway????????????)
Here are a few of them. Each book cost less than a dollar, they are by different publishers, some are paperback, some are hardcover, and some are Little Golden books.
Even though they are so varied, the do have one thing in common. Can you tell what it is?
Here is a closer look.
Here’s another clue.
You’re getting warmer!!!
Yes! That’s it!!! They all have something to do with the outdoors.
These little tabletop accessories are not only cute, but they are practical – that is if I had someone to read them to. Hmmmmm, I wonder if the neighbor’s kids want to come over and play.

Ha Ha! Boy this post rang true with me too! I have a few children’s books stashed away for “future grandchildren”. And NO I don’t know where they are. My girls would flip out if I blogged about it. LOL But, yes, the croquet balls and books make a sweet tabletop.
The books are wonderful. I truly love vintage children’s books.
Oh I love your vignette. The books and the balls are such wonderful accessories. Maybe you can rent a grand for a day. lol Great post. Thanks for joining TTT. Hugs, Marty
I do adore well written and illustrated children’s books. These are sweet.
I love children’s books and have some out here in my lanai, where I spend most of my time. I love that Golden book…I don’t think I have that one! Enjoy the week!
Come on over. I have a few kids you can borrow!!
Oh what cute books. I know when you have grandchildren they will love you reading these to them!
