Another Ultimate Before and After

Jordan and I travel with our husbands and some friends each year to an area of the world that could use a little help.  The way this works is that we select a country we want to visit or return to, and we connect with an organization there that needs help, both financially and physically.  This past March we traveled to Buenos Aires and worked with a three nuns who run a school located in the countryside near BA.

 

 

They had several needs, such as building a facility on the second floor of their school so they could feed the homeless children who lived in the village.  These kids had been abandoned by their parents.

 

Graffiti is a common eyesore in their area.  They wanted us to paint the exterior of the school.  (That’s my friend Marie in the photo).

 

They wanted this little sandbox replaced.

 

This garden area would become the new sand pit but only after a lot of digging, hauling dirt, and breaking down the brick wall.

 

This is one of the two turtles that live in the garden.  Don’t worry.  They still had grass and bushes to hide under.  The turtles were so cute, and we became fast friends.  Because they were so used to the children, they weren’t afraid of humans at all.  It was fun petting their heads.

 

We needed to clean up the grassy area around the school.

 

The playground equipment needed to be freshened up.  Here the teachers got in on the action.

Finally, most of the interior windows and doors needed to be painted.
