When we were in Buenos Aires recently, I had the chance to go to a weekly street market in the San Telmo neighborhood. It was very similar to the Paris markets except people were speaking Spanish and dancing the tango.
I spotted some great antique copper at several vendors and thought you would enjoy seeing it. Unfortunately, I didn’t buy any. I didn’t want to deal with carrying it around for two more weeks, toting it home on the plane, etc.
The copper was all polished and beautiful.
Double, double toil and trouble….Fire burn and cauldron bubble.
I’m not sure what these things are unless they were used for cream. Any guesses out there?
I think this is a bed warmer. Hot coals were put in this and the heat came out of the little holes. But then again, it could be for popcorn!!!!
I love that copper lantern.
We all know what this is. By the way, I didn’t check on prices so I don’t know if these pieces were expensive or not.
The copper wasn’t all from one vendor. It was scattered throughout the market. I ooooohed and aaaaaahed a lot.

Take care.
I love my copper pots…but you are right, hard to bring home…still, not even one???
The copper pan could also be used for roasting chestnuts.

I am a big copper fan so I don’t know if I would have been able to hold back on buying some! It is all just beautiful!!
My copper never looked so good. I even saw someone’s reflection. I really loved the hammered one. Of course I would love to have them all.
I didn’t think that I liked copper~but after seeing this…I do! Thanks for a new love.

Thanks for sharing your copper pots, I used to have some that I hung in the kitchen. Also when you delete your old blog, your link should default to your new blog.
Lovely!
Oh, and I thought they were yours!!! Love copper but having traveled around lately, I do understand about bringing things home! Last year in England I wouldn’t let myself look at two things — china and furniture!!!! LOL! Great pieces and they were probably “give away”!!! That’s why I didn’t look — if they were too cheap what was I to do?
this looks FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAABULOUS!!!!! : )
I love them all!
Thanks for sharing.
Hope to see you on my blog:)
I love copper and am so happy some of these warmer tones metals are coming back in. Thanks for sharing, liz
