I love to share items that I find or that find me that are somewhat unique. At least, I think they’re unique. For instance, I told you about the fat-free measuring cup (here) after I read about it in the New York Times.
Recently, this bag arrived inside a surprise box. It was a gift from my son’s girl friend, Josie. She lives in Washington, DC and works near a shop called Capital Teas.
Josie knows how much I love tea, especially good tea, and she put this little surprise together for me. The bag held a tin of special blend mixed by Capital Teas.
The biggest surprise, though, was this Travel French Press. How cool is that. I didn’t know you could press tea, just like you press coffee. On top of that, I didn’t know they were available in to go cups.
According to the directions, I add loose tea and then hot water, seal the lid and go. After four minutes, press down on the plunger, and then I have tea. (You follow the same procedure for coffee). It works just like any French press for the home. Except I won’t be at home. I’ll be out and about having fun and sippin’ on my favorite brew. I love it. Hello portable tea mug and good-bye Starbucks.

Now there are words that are dear to my pocket book – goodby Starbucks! (I don’t often go there but I always get the fanciest and most expensive things). Love your charming blog.

I have been a fan of the French Press for many years. It is great to know you can now make it on the go.

My husband drinks coffee and uses a French press some of the time. Now I am excited to try some tea using it. I have never seen a to go one before though.
