I stopped in the Salvation Army today to buy some men’s sports jackets to make into pillows (more on that later). I’m going for a Ralph Lauren look in our master bedroom this fall/winter.
While there, I happened to stumble upon this great cornucopia.
It was huge and only cost a buck ninety-nine. It is now mine.
I brought it home, vacuumed it, and aired it out for a few hours. Then it was time to create.
I removed the gourds from the wooden bowl on our formal dining table (here) and arranged them in the cornucopia which I have put on the kitchen table.
I also added a white pumpkin I was using in another part of our house. This will be our kitchen center piece till after Thanksgiving.
The natural colors in the gourds blend in nicely with the painting of Lulubelle.
Then I had to deal with the empty wooden bowl that was sitting on the dining room table. Lucky for me, I made a trip to the market this morning and bought a bag of beautiful, fresh oranges. I put them in the bowl, and now that area has a new look, too.
I think it needs some straw padding to look better.
But it gives that nice rustic/formal look that I like. And just think. I got two new looks for only $1.99.

Take care.
