Chalk Board Chargers

By Jordan | Projects

Author:  Spring (Jordan)

The other day I went to the thrift store looking for a platter that I could paint  and turn  into a chalk board platter.  You can read about that here.  I continued to browse the store because you never know what you are going to find.

I came across a bundle of gold chargers and thought that since I was going to have the chalk board paint out to do one project, I could go ahead and do another.  I purchased eight chargers for a few dollars, and decided to make chalk board chargers.

They were typical gold holiday chargers.

I washed the chargers, and they were ready for their first coat of paint.

After one coat of paint on the chargers, they looked like this.   They needed some more coverage, so, I did another coat.

Since these were ready in time for our wine crawl, I decorated one using the chalk board markers and played up our New York wines red, white, and black theme.  I added a plate and used it to serve granny smith apples.  It was very colorful and cheery!

These chargers will work great for holidays because you can decorate them for the occasion.  They also double as place cards for a dinner party.  Now your guests will know where to sit.

Have you done any chalk board projects recently?

Cheers!

I actually did this same project last Thanksgiving. I found them at a junk shop for pennies and loved changing them up. I wrote “I am thankful for NAME” on each one for Thanksgiving. =) Fun!
