My posts for the next three months will be briefer, but we will try to publish regularly. And I lied last week when I promised to get back to using my good camera instead of my iphone for blog photos. One arm living means only one hand for operating a camera. There is no way I can manipulate a camera and tripod right now with a cast on my right hand almost to my elbow. I am cringing at the quality of the photos, but it cant be helped.

I knew when we moved into our new place that we would have to add a few pieces of furniture. My friend Beth Harper, the Lone Rearranger, is helping me with furniture placement and picture hanging, She suggested a bow front chest for a spot in the dining room. That very afternoon I found the perfect piece at my favorite local consignment shop. However, it needed some love.
I decided to paint it black but sand off the old finish first. When our head painter saw me struggling with the electric sander in our garage this summer, he offered to take the piece to his shop and paint it for me at no charge. I accepted his generous offer.
Here are the results.
Mannie did such a good job. Before he owned a painting company, he was trained to refinish fine furniture.
Next week we will show you a close up of the pulls/hardware that we bought for it along with the cool things in the wooden bowl.. They are the perfect exclamation point.
Take care.
