It’s time for another Tuesday Thoughts. We always have fun with these posts, and we hope you enjoy them, too.
We went camping this weekend in the North Georgia mountains and had a blast. Little Miss had so much fun. We went to a fun little place in Tiger, GA. There were goats on a roof. Yep, you read that right. Goats just hanging out on a roof. If you are ever in the area, be sure to make a quick stop. It was a three-hour drive for us, so we ate dinner in the car as we traveled there Friday evening. We arrived just in time to put up our tent and make s’mores over the fire.
When Mom and I biked in Africa, we saw goat trees, and that’s exactly what it sounds like. There were goats on practically every limb of a thorny tree, and they were eating the thorns. These Georgia goats were better though, because Little Miss just loved them.
I just downloaded this book to my Kindle and so far so good.
These metal chairs are so cute for your outdoor space, and the price is awesome. They come in a lot of fun colors. I think they would be fun inside as well.
If you are on the look-out for something in patriotic colors for your July 4th outfit, my girlfriend found these cute gingham sandals at Walmart, and they are only $7.00. I asked her to pick up a pair for me, too. They have some cute gingham shoes online here, too.
Oh, and Mom took a photo of this red and white top at her local Walmart. It has a cute tie back and was around $13.00. We were surprised to see such adorable things at Walmart, so you might want to check out one near you.
Now it’s Mom turn to chime in on these Tuesday Thoughts.
Hi, everyone. I have a little behind the scenes info for you today. Have you heard about or seen the movie, American Animals? It’s a new release and is about a robbery of some valuable books and art here in Lexington. It’s described like this: “Four young men mistake their lives for a movie and attempt one of the most audacious heists in U.S. history.” The crime occurred 10 years ago when four college boys robbed Transylvania University, a local university just two blocks from our rental. Their goal was to steal some of the most valuable books in America. Well, I had one of the students in a Freshman English class, and he was such a nice kid. We saw the movie yesterday and actually walked past the Transy library on our way to the theater.
Eric isn’t my only notorious student, though. I also taught Patsy Paugh when I was student teaching. You know her as Patsy Ramsey, the mother of Jon Benet Ramsey.
I could probably buy a sofa with all of the money that I have spent in my lifetime on lipstick. I always struggle to find one that actually stays on these very dry lips of mine. I have tried the top of the line expensive brands, and I have scraped the bottom of the barrel. Totally by accident, I found one that stays on longer than most. The secret for me with this particular brand is to put the lipstick onto my finger and dab it onto my lips. That way it doesn’t get too bright. Then I top it off with either some Burt’s Bees gloss or the gloss that comes with it. It’s Maybelline Super Stay 24 2-step Super Stay Lipstick. I bought mine at Rite-Aid, but it is $3.00 cheaper here on Amazon.
If you are in need of some healthy herbs for your summer salads, and you don’t have an herb garden, find the nearest Trader Joe’s and get there fast!!! They have the best looking herbs, and they are only $1.99 per pot. I bought a big ole basil plant for a special salad recipe that I will be sharing with you this Friday. Oh, and I went to a cocktail party last week, and the drink of the night was the basil mojito. They got the recipe from this blog, and it sure was good to enjoy one made by someone else.
That’s it for our Tuesday Thoughts today.
Cheers and Take care!
