Holidays can be a hard time for people who are coping with the loss of a family member. That’s one of the reasons it is so nice to have certain traditions that you always follow. It’s also good to include family members in the holidays by involving them in the preparations and celebration. It doesn’t matter if they are toddlers, teens, or advanced in age, there’s always something they can do. It’s a way of creating memories with them that you will always have.
The November article that we wrote for Angie’s List has some great suggestions about celebrating holidays with out families. Although it is geared toward Thanksgiving, some of the ideas certainly can be applied to Christmas, as well.
