Hello everyone from Lake Placid, NY. where it is absolutely beautiful. Mom and I, along with other family members, have rented a beautiful house in the woods for a week. Yankee competed in his first full Ironman on Sunday along with 2,500 participants, and he finished strong and hard. It took him 14 hours and 40 odd minutes to swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles, and then run a full marathon at 26 miles. Knowing how hard he has worked to achieve this goal makes us all so proud, and now I can say I am married to an “Ironman.”
(This is after the swim and 112 miles bike ride.)
There are so many stories that come with an event like an Ironman competition, and as spectators, we get to see people really dig inside themselves and find the strength to keep going. I think one of the most inspiring stories we witnessed was a blind woman who competed and finished. Thousands of people were gathered at the finish line last Sunday night to cheer on the participants (many struggling to make it) who were the last to finish. When she entered, the crowd went wild. It was a special moment. I plan to think about her when I need the courage to do something that’s difficult. Now let’s get on to today’s subject.

Congratulations to him! To be able to even comprehend the effort that takes I had to first figure out that to just do the bike part he had to pedal 8mph, so you have to be even faster to complete all…and then I was tired thinking about it..He must be very proud to have achieved that
