Have You Been Flocked?

 I have given you a tour of our historic neighborhood (here) before, but it didn’t include this.

 

Everything is pretty traditional around here, and so this morning I was surprised to catch a glimpse of pink when I opened the front door to grab the morning paper.

 

Apparently, my sweet little neighbor had some visitors last night.

 

It turns out that a local church is raising money to build a Habitat for Humanity house.  As a fundraiser, people can buy flocks of flamingoes to be delivered to unsuspecting friends.  Our neighbor’s best friend arranged for this delivery.

 

They brought some welcome color to this rainy and gray morning.

 

Located directly across the street from the city’s historic park gazebo, the little plastic birds are grazing away and doing their job of putting a smile on everyone’s face.
