We are into full-blown spring on my street here in Charlotte. The daffodils are in full bloom, and the trees are showing their colors, too. February just flew by, and we are ready to embrace spring!!! We thought you might have some paint projects on your lists as part of your own spring fix-ups so we are bringing back this popular post from last March. Enjoy the revisit.

Don’t you feel so much better when you buy a new shade of lipstick or add a colorful scarf to an old outfit? Small changes like that put a little extra spring in my step for sure. We had a night stand from our condo in Toronto that we’ve been using in our guest room. Plus, I was tired of looking at it. The wood was on the yellowish side, and its floral decals were dated.
Giving the night stand a new look has been on my to-do list for quite a while, but I kept moving it to the bottom of the list. Finally, I picked a color, Napoleonic Blue by Annie Sloan, and painted it. What an instant improvement?
I added some character by sanding off some of the paint in a few areas.
I’ve used this color before and really like it.
This time around, though, I applied a coat of Briwax liming wax which enhanced the distressed areas and added more character.
Now the neutral colored guest room has another pop of color that will make it more inviting when our friends and family spend the night. Have you painted any furniture lately?
Take care.
