Whew!! \u00a0Now that our Derby Week Event is over and deemed a success, we can settle down and get back into the decorating mode.<\/h3>\n

I am always late to the party when it comes to getting the latest decorating book. \u00a0Just last week I got around to buying Charles Faudree’s most recent book, Details<\/em>. \u00a0I heard him speak at a luncheon last year, and he is an entertaining, funny, gifted, and charming man.<\/h3>\n

We have an area in our foyer that is cute but needed to be cuter. \u00a0I followed a directive from Charles’s book and put a flea market plate on it. \u00a0Come to think of it, I don’t believe Charles told me to get the plate at a flea market. \u00a0He probably recommended getting it at a high-end shop or a Paris market, but I ignored that bit of advice.<\/h3>\n

Now it’s cuter. \u00a0But wait, you need to see the big picture – the whole scenario so you can make some sense out of it.<\/h3>\n

This little corbel with the candle and now plate on it hangs above a still life print.<\/h3>\n

They fill in some space beside the grandfather clock.<\/h3>\n

Next to the grandfather clock on the floor is my little French market basket turned umbrella stand. \u00a0This is the aerial view taken from the steps!!! \u00a0(It’s a narrow hallway). \u00a0I actually dusted the top of the clock before I took the photo, thank ya very much!!!<\/h3>\n

So, all I had to do to spiff the area up a little was put a plate on it. \u00a0Thanks, Charles, for the idea. \u00a0I owe you one.<\/h3>\n
