We have dinner guests coming tomorrow, and I always like to plan out the tablescape the day before. \u00a0So, here we go. \u00a0I’m using our countertop, rather than the table, to work through the look.<\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Since the main course is a hearty chicken pot pie, I want to go somewhat casual with the table. \u00a0I will use this quilted placemat by Vera Bradley. \u00a0I like it because it has some fall colors plus a touch of blue, which I will need.<\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I am using my favorite chargers because the rattan is perfect this time of year. \u00a0I use them consistently during the summer and fall because they are perfect in a very casual or formal setting. \u00a0I have even used them for Thanksgiving in the past.<\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The dinner plates will be our Nantucket Basket pattern by Wedgewood.<\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

For the first time ever, I am actually using these old flow blue plates by Johnson Brothers. \u00a0The pattern is Princeton. \u00a0My mother gave me one cream soup bowl that had belonged to my late grandmother, and I have been adding to it with purchases on ebay. \u00a0Since there will only be four of us, I will have enough for salads and soup.<\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I have no idea how old they are. \u00a0However, I have been told that if the logo says “England”, rather than “Made in England”, then they were made before 1920.<\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I have always loved all flow blue dishes.<\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I am going to start the meal with a nice butternut squash cream soup that will be perfect in these little bowls.<\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

We will use our wedding silver, Royal Danish by International. \u00a0I have great soup spoons in this pattern also. \u00a0Country Living<\/span><\/em>\u00a0magazine had an article in the November issue that discussed the ten most popular silver patterns in the nation. \u00a0This is not one of them, but I loved it the minute I first saw it years ago and still love it.<\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Finally, I will blue water goblets I bought years ago at The Dollar Tree. \u00a0The wine goblets, which I just realized I forgot to add, will be plain crystal. \u00a0Instead of stark white, I decided to go with a beige napkin to add a little twist.<\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The napkin rings are really fun. \u00a0They are made from flattened silver plate spoons. \u00a0Each one is a different pattern, and they have a little tarnish on them, which I like. \u00a0That’s patina – right?<\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I was lucky enough to win this meat platter on ebay a while back. \u00a0Since our meal is somewhat heavy, I am going to make cupcakes for dessert and serve them on this platter. \u00a0That will make them appear more special.<\/h3>\n

Now that the table scape is planned, it’s time to make my grocery list. \u00a0Gotta go…….<\/h3>\n
