Ultimate Before and After"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div>In blogland, we like a good project with dismal before photos and happy, happy, joy, joy after photos.\u00a0 Our build here in Laos provides just that.<\/div>\n<div>When we arrived nearly two weeks ago, we learned two startling facts about Laos:\u00a0 \u00a0It is the\u00a0<strong>most bombed <\/strong>country in the world, and the average annual income is $980.00.\u00a0 With the knowledge of these two facts under our belts, we made up our minds to do everything possible to help the school community in the village where we were building.\u00a0\u00a0 Our goal was to build a new wing of the existing school to accommodate three classrooms and to build a playground.\u00a0 Well, not only did we do that but we also painted all of the existing classrooms, cleaned and repaired all of the classroom furniture, and made a falling-down rice shack\/turned classroom into a real classroom.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/images.quickblogcast.com\/4\/8\/2\/6\/7\/284967-276284\/P1200836.JPG?a=82\" alt=\"\" \/><\/div>\n<div><em>When we arrived in Laos, the locals had completed the school&#8217;s support beams.<\/em><\/div>\n<div><em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/div>\n<div><em><img decoding=\"async\" the locals will add the room, floor, and shutters.\u00a0 We made a lot of progress in such a short time.<\/em><\/div>\n<p><em><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif;\">The playground equipment was nonexistent when we arrived.\u00a0 Our team built a jungle gym that the locals can add to if they want.\u00a0 The children loved their new swings and climbing to the upper what they looked like after three coats of yellow paint to three walls and and three coats of blue paint to one wall, new white boards, clean tables and benches, and clean chalk boards.\u00a0 We also supplied each teacher with a ton of teaching materials.\u00a0 The existing classrooms were not part of our original project, but we all know what a difference a little bit of paint and elbow grease can do.<\/span><\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div><em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/div>\n<div><em><img decoding=\"async\" dances, a ceremony where they blessed us and tied strings around our wrists for good luck, and a hearty meal of traditional Lao foods.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: arial,
