“My mamma didn’t raise no dummy”. \u00a0That’s right. \u00a0After months of reading about the fantastic results everyone is achieving when using chalk paint, I had to jump on board. \u00a0I know a good thing when I see it<\/del>\u00a0read about it, and so, I ordered my first quart of chalk paint in the most basic of colors – no color.<\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

We have an Ethan Allen night stand that was showing its age after years of use and a few moves. \u00a0It is still very solid, is a great size, has perfect storage, and has a history with our family. \u00a0It is cherry like the headboard it belongs to, but I decided by painting it, then it could be the one piece of painted furniture in the master bedroom.<\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I don’t like a \u00a0room full of painted furniture. \u00a0I like just one painted piece and let it be the exclamation point! for the room. \u00a0It gets to be the star.<\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I did all of the necessary painting, sanding,………..<\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

And waxing, and it turned out like this…….<\/h3>\n

It’s not bad for the first time.<\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I left the hardware in its original brass finish but plan to paint it with ORB.<\/h3>\n

\nI had to paint part of the hardware because it wouldn’t come off, and Mr. Autumn wasn’t here to help me. \u00a0We’ll remove it, though, when it’s ORB time.<\/h3>\n

And here is the finished project, doing its job adding bedside storage for me and an exclamation point! in the room.<\/h3>\n
