Yesterday I wrote about the mirror<\/a> I redid so that it would work with the skirt I made for our powder room.<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0Since I took photos of the skirt-making process, I thought it would be fun to share it with you.<\/h3>\n

I love the custom marble countertop and vessel sink but felt that it was a little top-heavy for the open bottom of the vanity. \u00a0So, I decided to make a skirt for it if I could find the right fabric.<\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I fell in love with this paisley, and I knew it would be the WOW! factor in the room.<\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Thanks to all of my years of taking sewing in 4-H, I am really good at sewing straight lines. \u00a0And making a skirt panel is nothing more than measuring, cutting, and sewing a bunch of straight lines.<\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

One of my go-to tools when sewing is chalk. \u00a0It really helps me mark my cutting lines because just like a carpenter, I measure twice and cut once. \u00a0It is important to press every seam as you go. \u00a0That gives a more polished look to the finished piece.<\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

And just about an hour after I started, I had this great skirt.<\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I used a tension rod to hold it securely.<\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

So, there you have it. \u00a0If you have had any sewing basics, like Sewing 101, you can skirt any issue<\/del>\u00a0sink.<\/h3>\n
