{"id":44343,"date":"2020-03-23T22:00:50","date_gmt":"2020-03-24T03:00:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/?p=44343"},"modified":"2020-03-23T15:49:24","modified_gmt":"2020-03-23T20:49:24","slug":"meal-planning-help-for-you","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/?p=44343","title":{"rendered":"Meal Planning Help for You &#8211; A Month of Meals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Meal planning help for you is on the way.\u00a0 We have a month or more of meals listed here that might help you when you&#8217;re planning your corona lock-down menu.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-44350\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Meal-Planning-Help--683x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"960\" srcset=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Meal-Planning-Help--683x1024.jpg 683w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Meal-Planning-Help--215x323.jpg 215w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Meal-Planning-Help--768x1152.jpg 768w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Meal-Planning-Help--640x960.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Hello, everyone.\u00a0 We hope you are staying healthy.\u00a0 Thank you for being here.\u00a0 (First off, please pin this post, share it on your Facebook, and share it on Instagram.\u00a0 We want to help people who are having issues with menu planning.)\u00a0 Since we are all eating at home more these days than we might be during healthy times, I thought that I would share with you the meals I have cooked and the meals I plan to prepare.\u00a0 I went through my refrigerator, freezer, and pantry and took inventory.\u00a0 Then I went to the store and added some items that would help out.\u00a0 I pretty much can go for a month right now based on what we have on hand.\u00a0 If you are in a conundrum and just don&#8217;t know what to prepare, we have some meal planning help for you.\u00a0 I am basing all of these foods on what&#8217;s in our pantry.\u00a0 Yours might have completely different items.\u00a0 I told Mike that some meals will be more nourishing than others, but we <em>will have<\/em> meals.\u00a0 Also, I live just half a mile from Kroger and could go there at any time.\u00a0 However, I just don&#8217;t want to expose myself when I don&#8217;t need to.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>My plan, is to have enough made for dinner that we can eat the left overs the following day for lunch.\u00a0 Also, I am freezing meals when it&#8217;s too much for us to eat in two meals.\u00a0 For instance, last week I made chicken rice pilaf.\u00a0 That made enough for a 9 x 13 casserole dish.\u00a0 Instead, I divided it into two smaller dishes.\u00a0 We had enough for dinner one night and lunch the next day, and there&#8217;s still a chicken rice pilaf in our freezer.<\/p>\n<p>When I am at the market, I buy produce with a longer shelf life.\u00a0 Some veggies that last longer are cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, spaghetti squash, potatoes, onions, sweet potatoes, and I have all of these items on hand.\u00a0 Fruits I try to keep on hand that last longer are oranges and apples.<\/p>\n<p>In our pantry I have chicken broth (a necessity for many homemade soups) dry beans, rice, orzo, couscous, canned vegetables like green beans, pork and beans, diced tomatoes, and tomato juice.\u00a0 Also, there&#8217;s canned pineapple, peaches, pumpkin, applesauce, and evaporated milk.\u00a0 Of course, there&#8217;s flour, sugar, all of the baking supplies, like chocolate chips, yeast, cocoa powder, etc.<\/p>\n<p>We have frozen vegetables, fruits, orange juice, chicken, ground turkey, salmon, and shrimp in the freezer.<\/p>\n<p>A few things I want to point out before I get started.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t eat beef so all of the dishes that use ground meat is ground turkey.\u00a0 Also, I don&#8217;t eat pork (except bacon), so these foods are heavy on fish, turkey, and beans.\u00a0 Also, there might not be a vegetable listed with every item on the dinner, but if we aren&#8217;t having soup, then I will add a side of veggies or a salad.\u00a0 These are not fancy meals, but they&#8217;ll serve us well. Please look over the recipes we have listed above in our recipe index.<\/p>\n<h2>Breakfast<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone I like a carb heavy breakfast.\u00a0 I vary the following items:<\/p>\n<p>Oatmeal<\/p>\n<p>Biscuits and jam (recipes for biscuits <a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2012\/01\/05\/the-best-biscuit-recipe\/\">here<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2015\/05\/14\/best-ever-lemon-biscuits-recipe\/\">here<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2014\/10\/16\/best-cinnamon-biscuits-ever\/\">here<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>Bagel<\/p>\n<p>French toast<\/p>\n<p>Cinnamon toast<\/p>\n<p>Scone (recipe <a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2019\/02\/14\/orange-chocolate-scones\/\">here<\/a>) You can use what you have on hand as added ingredients.<\/p>\n<p>Pancakes (recipes for pancakes <a chips<\/p>\n<p>Chicken salad sandwich and chips (I bought canned chicken for the first time)<\/p>\n<p>Grilled cheese<\/p>\n<p>Cheese quesadilla<\/p>\n<p>Fruit, cottage cheese, and pretzels (my favorite lunch anytime)<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Dinner<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-42094\"
