Use these simple steps to clean your Keurig coffee maker.<\/em><\/p>\n

Hello, everyone.\u00a0 Can I get a shout out from all of the coffee drinkers out there?\u00a0 I am relatively new to the coffee drinking world.\u00a0 I waited to get into my sixties before I could stand the taste.\u00a0 And now I say amen to a good latte.\u00a0 I haven’t mastered drinking a cup of joe without cream or milk, and I don’t intend to.\u00a0 However, I certainly enjoy a good latte or cappucino.\u00a0 (I use this cool<\/span> device to froth my milk<\/span><\/a>.) To make my coffee (always a decaf made with skim milk), I use this Keurig machine<\/a><\/span>, although there are less expensive ones available. I love the simplicity of it although I am curious about a French press.<\/span><\/a>\u00a0 My Keurig machine has been a little sluggish lately, and so, I decided to give it a good cleaning.\u00a0 I consulted a Youtube video to learn what to do.\u00a0 The steps are simple, and it takes about 30 minutes from beginning to end.<\/p>\n

Here’s how to clean a Keurig coffee maker:<\/strong><\/h2>\n
    \n
  1. \u00a0Wash all of the removable parts in warm sudsy water.\u00a0 (It’s important to empty the Keurig’s water tank whenever it is not being used to prevent mold from forming.)\u00a0 Drain and dry the parts when they are clean.<\/li>\n
  2. Wash the outside of the coffee maker with warm sudsy water, and dry well with a soft cloth.<\/li>\n
  3. Replace the parts, and fill the water tank with vinegar.\u00a0 Push the flashing button, and let the vinegar empty into a cup.\u00a0 Continue this process until the tank is empty or almost empty.<\/li>\n
  4. Fill the tank with distilled or filter water, and follow the same process.\u00a0 Do this for at least two tanks full of water to remove the taste of vinegar.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    That’s all there is to it.\u00a0 The only negative is that you need to stay nearby to push the button so the water will run through.<\/p>\n

    If you all have any suggestions on which brand of coffee to use, I am all ears.\u00a0 Right now I am using the Dunkin’ Donuts decaf K cups, but there might be better ones out there.\u00a0 Your suggestions are encouraged.<\/p>\n
