{"id":4409,"date":"2011-09-13T07:09:12","date_gmt":"2011-09-13T12:09:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/?p=4409"},"modified":"2014-07-20T11:36:59","modified_gmt":"2014-07-20T16:36:59","slug":"tips-for-traveling-easy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/?p=4409","title":{"rendered":"Tips for Easy Traveling"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/h3>\n<p>It&#8217;s always nice to have a stash of traveling tips in the back of your mind so that when you take a trip to the nearby state park or a trip around the world, you know that you are packing and preparing the right way.\u00a0 Jordan and I, along with our husbands, have been lucky enough to travel around the world.\u00a0 I have been to 67 countries and terriories (my goal is 100), and Jordan is clocking in at over 30.\u00a0 We can both go away for a three-week trip and live out of a carry-on and small backpack.\u00a0 We wrote a post a few years back and shared ten of our travel tips.\u00a0 Today, we are reposting it but with updated info and a few more tips.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\"><em>1. \u00a0PUREX\u00a0<\/em><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Purex Complete 3-in-1 Spring Oasis\" src=\"http:\/\/www.purex.com\/wp-content\/themes\/purexV2\/images\/products\/3in1_spring_oasis.jpg\" \/><\/h3>\n<h3>This Purex product is great. \u00a0In case you don&#8217;t know about them, they are little sheets that resemble dryer sheets, but they contain detergent and softener. \u00a0I cut each sheet into three sections and then store them in a baggy. \u00a0They are perfect for washing out any clothes that need to be cleaned when there isn&#8217;t a laundry service nearby. \u00a0When you travel with a minimum amount of clothing, doing laundry is a necessity.<\/h3>\n<p><strong><em>2. \u00a0PASHMINA \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><em><strong>\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<em><strong><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<h3>I bought a good pashmina scarf when they first became popular, and it has been a faithful traveling companion since then. \u00a0I keep it in a baggy in my back pack so that it is readily available to use on a cold flight. \u00a0It also comes in handy as a neck scarf and as a shawl in a chilly locale. \u00a0When I get home, I always send it to the cleaners so it will be fresh and ready for the next flight.<\/h3>\n<p><strong><em>3. \u00a0CREDIT CARDS \u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sandiyorong.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/CreditCardLogos.jpg\" width=\"480\" height=\"349\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\">Always take at least two credit cards with you in case the ATM will not work with \u00a0one of them. \u00a0And always inform your credit card companies before you leave that you will be traveling. \u00a0Give them the dates you will be away and the countries you will be in.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><strong><em>4. FACE CLEANSING CLOTHS<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\">There are many brands of facial cloths out there, and they are great for traveling. \u00a0They are light, extremely soothing and efficient, and the cloth can be used as a wash cloth in a pinch.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t use them when I am at home because then I prefer a cream make-up remover, but when I see them on a two for one sale, I stock up.<\/h3>\n<p><strong><em>5. \u00a0NECK POUCH\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.magellans.com\/store\/Small_Bags___Wallets___Wallets___Money_BeltsSV631#\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Magellan's Secret Neck Pouch SV631\" src=\"http:\/\/image.magellans.com\/mitcus\/Images\/products\/large\/SV631_lg.jpg\" width=\"325\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\">I always wear a neck pouch when traveling in and out of the country. \u00a0It is the perfect size to carry a passport, credit cards, and some currency. \u00a0This pouch is worn under clothing and cannot be seen. \u00a0It is so much better than those ugly fanny packs that, along with white tennis shoes, label you as an American tourist.\u00a0 Always try to blend in with the locals, either in the USA or abroad.<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\"><strong><em>6. \u00a0CUDDL DUDS<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<h3><a id=\"RNav_dlPrdThumb_ctl02_lnkPrdImg\" href=\"http:\/\/www.jcpenney.com\/jcp\/X6.aspx?GrpTyp=PRD&amp;ItemID=1c4dfb4&amp;Nao=0&amp;Ne=4+840+877+878+5+961+6+968+29+3+598+11+15+12+506+10+23+585+596+963+579+1031+8+1022+1014+586+1007+879+1027+18+904+903+969+833+949&amp;NOffset=0&amp;Ntt=cuddl+duds&amp;SearchString=cuddl+duds&amp;N=4294959029&amp;SO=0&amp;PSO=0&amp;CmCatId=EXTERNAL|xgn\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" style=\"border-style: initial;border-color: initial;border-width: 0px\" alt=\"Cuddl Duds\u00ae Softwear with Stretch Crewneck Top\" src=\"http:\/\/zoom.jcpenney.com\/is\/image\/0900631b81c91997M.tif?wid=180&amp;hei=180&amp;op_usm=1.5,.8,0,0&amp;resmode=sharp\" width=\"180\" height=\"180\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nI like Cuddl Duds for several reasons. \u00a0First, they add an extra layer of warmth when you need it, and they dry quickly. \u00a0Second, they are extremely light, weighing just a few ounces; third, they are nice to have against your skin so that you can get another day out of your blouse or shirt if you have run out of clean clothes. \u00a0It happens.<\/h3>\n<h3><em>7. \u00a0HIDE SOME MONEY<\/em><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/barefoottessblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/lots_of_money.gif\" width=\"508\" height=\"299\" \/><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\">This might sound paranoid, but even when I am wearing a neck pouch, I always have some local currency hidden somewhere else on my body &#8211; usually in my shoe. \u00a0If nothing else, it gives me peace of mind, especially when I am traveling alone. \u00a0It&#8217;s nice to know that if anything happens, I at least have taxi money to get back to my hotel.<\/h3>\n<h3><strong><em>8. PLASTIC STORAGE VIALS<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">\n<h3>These little storage vials are invaluable.\u00a0 Jordan first told me about their uses. \u00a0Two of them will hold enough of my night time moisturizer for a month. \u00a0They are great for aspirins, vaseline, foundation, lotion, and tons of other things. \u00a0Remember, with carry-on luggage, you still have to fit all of your liquids in a one-quart baggy. \u00a0These little vials eliminate the need to carry a large container of something than you need.<\/h3>\n<h3>9. \u00a0<em>BE AN AMBASSADOR<\/em><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/2011\/09\/13\/tips-for-traveling-easy\/100_0067\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4693\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-4693\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/100_0067-1024x768.jpg\" width=\"553\" height=\"415\" srcset=\"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/100_0067-1024x768.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/100_0067-430x323.jpg 430w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 553px) 100vw, 553px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>My philosophy when I travel is that I am representing ALL Americans, and I better mind my manners. \u00a0They don&#8217;t know me as Janette, or as a mother, wife, sister, and daughter. \u00a0They know me as &#8220;that American woman.&#8221;
