{"id":4361,"date":"2011-08-19T06:19:38","date_gmt":"2011-08-19T11:19:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/?p=4361"},"modified":"2011-08-19T06:41:10","modified_gmt":"2011-08-19T11:41:10","slug":"homemade-granola","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/the2seasons.com\/?p=4361","title":{"rendered":"Homemade Granola"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><em>Author &#8211; Autumn (Janette)<\/em><\/h3>\n<h3>When we weren&#8217;t looking, summer started to wind down, and the kids are off to school. \u00a0I thought it would be nice to share a granola recipe that I love making, and Mr. Autumn enjoys eating. \u00a0It is a hardy recipe that will keep little and adult tummies full till lunch. \u00a0You can vary it by using your choice of dried fruits to add and switch things up.<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/images.inmagine.com\/img\/westend61\/wses145\/wses145331.jpg\" alt=\"Bowls of cereal and fruits with yoghurt photo\" border=\"0\" \/><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>GRANOLA<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h3>5 cups uncooked oatmeal<\/h3>\n<h3>1 12-ounce package coconut<\/h3>\n<h3>1 cup chopped almonds<\/h3>\n<h3>1 teaspoon cinnamon (I add more)<\/h3>\n<h3>1\/4 cup cranola oil (Some recipes call for a lot more oil, but I prefer the low fat version)<\/h3>\n<h3>1\/2 &#8211; 3\/4 cup honey<\/h3>\n<h3>1 cup dried, chopped fruit like pineapple, cranberries, apricots, raisins<\/h3>\n<h3>Heat oven to 300 degrees. \u00a0Mix oatmeal, coconut and almonds together in a big bowl. \u00a0Combine oil and honey and whisk. \u00a0Add it to the oat mixture and mix very well.<\/h3>\n<h3>You can either add your fruit now or after it has been baked. \u00a0(I add my after).<\/h3>\n<h3>Spread the mixture evenly on a large baking sheet or jelly roll pan. \u00a0Bake for 15 minutes and then stir. \u00a0Bake for 15 minutes more. \u00a0BE CAREFUL. \u00a0It will burn easily.<\/h3>\n<h3>This recipe is great in a bowl with milk or mixed with yogurt or ice cream.<\/h3>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>Enjoy and have a good week-end.<\/h3>\n<h3>Take care.<\/h3>\n<p>Photo from www.inmagine.com<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Author &#8211; Autumn (Janette) When we weren&#8217;t looking, summer started to wind down, and the kids are off to school. \u00a0I thought it would be nice to share a granola recipe that I love making, and Mr. Autumn enjoys eating. \u00a0It is a hardy recipe that will keep little and adult tummies full till lunch.
